ABOUT
This project started as website to advocate for environmentalism. Seeing that the scope was too large, Aby decide to connect people to nature through a phonology archive at The Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona, Wisconsin. After finding it difficult to identify the plants at the nature center, this website became a way to label the plants and animals that we could not identify using the photos taken by ALNC naturalist, Brad Wennen. Using Brad’s photos, you can walk through the nature center and identify many of the plants and animals that grow at the ALNC.

Aby. B
Web Master

Aby is a student at West High School in the Special Ed 18 to 21 program. Aby has a form of high functioning autism know as Asperger's syndrome. While working with Pat from KGH Autism Treatment Center, Aby designed this website as a project in her STEM program. When Aby was upset as a baby, Aby’s mom would take her outside and she would calm down within moments. When she felt overwhelmed in middle school, she would sit on the rocks under the trees by the river that flowed past her school and watch the water flow. Aby has always loved to be outdoors and finds it very calming. Aby grew up surrounded by science. He dad is a high school science teacher. Science has played a key role in her household for as long as she can remember. Aby also loves video games such as The Sims (3-4), Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and The Elder Scrolls.
